LEIGH LEVERETT (Costume Designer) has had a long and prosperous career in costuming for television and film for many years, spending the last few as costume designer in her own right. As a costume designer, she has had the pleasure of working on feature films such as Safe Haven with director Lasse Hallström and stars Josh Duhamel, Julieanne Hough and Colbie Smulders; Bloodworth with director Shane D. Taylor and stars Kris Kristofferson, Val Kilmer and Hilary Duff; Hounddog with director Deborah Kampmeier and stars Dakota Fanning, Robin Wright, David Morse and Piper Laurie; and Pucked with legendary director Arthur Hiller and stars Jon Bon Jovi, Cary Elwes and Nora Dunn.
Her television credits as costume designer include the HBO series Eastbound and Down and familiar teen dramas One Tree Hill and Dawson’s Creek. She is currently working on the popular CW show The Vampire Diaries.
Before taking the leap to designing she worked her way through the costume department and she could be seen working as an assistant costume designer on the Merchant/Ivory film A Soldier’s Daughter Never Cries and, as a costume supervisor on such films as Dragonflyand Summer Catch and a host of television movies, including the George Lucas-produced The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
She has also worked extensively costuming on set with such notable directors as Steven Spielberg on Minority Report, Jim Cameron on Titanic, Roland Emmerich on The Patriotand Barry Sonnenfeld on Wild Wild West.
She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from The University of Georgia with a B.A. in journalism.
